How these numbers were made

Read before quoting a figure

  • Every throughput and revenue figure on this page is a model estimate built from public signals — traffic on the frontage road, places to spend time within half a mile, competing fast-charging ports within 1 and 3 miles, and local plug-in registrations — scaled to the published statewide benchmark for how busy fast chargers are. None of it is metered data from an operator, and no station reports its own numbers here.
  • Ports are counted as published. A bank of chargers at one address is shown as one station with its ports added up: 44 listed units group into 29 stations.
  • Level 1 wall outlets are counted but left out of the revenue estimate; they are not a charging business.
  • Parking demand and lot visibility are treated as ordinary for every station here, because there is no aerial survey of someone else's lot. The owner's own sites carry a surveyed figure on their score pages, which is why one of them can come out differently from a competitor with the same traffic.

Starting point for every station: 167.4 kWh per fast port per day and 8 per Level 2 port, before the site-by-site adjustments. Starting point: national 7.4 sessions/port/day × 30 kWh scaled by Rhode Island's 11.9% time-in-use vs 15.8% nationally (published industry reports, Q2 2026).

Left out of the totals

6 stations with 0 fast and 76 slower ports are fleet or base parking the public cannot use. They are in the table when "hide non-public" is off, but never in the port counts, the revenue estimate or the coverage gaps.
